Janet is the niece of playwright Brendan Behan and the great-niece of Peadar Kearney (author of Amhrán na bhFiann, the Irish National Anthem).
A Londoner by birth, she now lives by the sea in West Sussex and has just completed her first novel. She is married to drama director Dermot Boyd and they have two grown-up sons.
